Love (Photos of) Yourself

Beauty magazines used to be the ones to blame. They would sell us on perfect looks through spread after spread of tiny torsos, glossy hair and smooth skin. These days the finger often gets pointed at Instagram. Curated and edited, influencers and even your high school best friend paint pictures of I-woke-up-like-this flawlessness. Seeing one image of perfection after another makes it difficult to get past our flaws and pimples, but, Beauty, I’m here to tell you you’re gorgeous!

And you deserve to love photos of yourself and to let yourself be seen! Flaws and all, baby. We all have them, we just need to teach ourselves to focus on the good stuff. Treat ourselves like our own best friends where we never put ourselves down. Instead, let’s focus on helping each other pick out rockstar outfits, trading makeup and hair tips and joking around about popping out our arms to make them look toned.

What I’m trying to say is rather than burying yourself in self-hate talk, build yourself up with compliments as if kindness fights wrinkles - it probably does!

This is the big secret to loving photos of yourself. Learning to see and treat yourself the way others see and treat you. I make it my mission to show people their outer and inner beauty the way I see it. I help them zero in on what makes them beautiful and learn to look past what they’re nitpicking. This is a huge reason why I talk to my clients about how they want to see themselves in their photos. I want to show them that the vision of how they think they should look is already the truth - sometimes we just need to tease it out a bit.

Now is the time to say YES...to being in photos, to celebrating yourself as you are right now and to an experience that is all about you! Come to my studio, get pampered and have an experience that goes beyond the photo shoot. I promise you will leave with a bounce in your step and be walking a little taller.
